View south of a 1000 ft Great Lakes freighter coming up the St. Clair River toward Lake Huron. The river takes a sharp bend in this area and has caused several accidents over the years. Back when ships were smaller, traffic heavier and navigation less precise, ships collided and ships sank. Very exciting for young kids in town. The industrial complex in the background is across the river in Sarnia, another source of excitement to young kids when fire prevention was less precise.
