Being careful crossing the snow fields. Quite hard packed and slippery in the sun. We are on our way up the the peak of Black Giant. The route up Black Giant from this side is up the drainage chute as seen from the saddle to the Ionian Basin. The chute is slippery and has a lot of loose rock, more than average. Very steep.
