Jan arriving at the Muir stone hut. Constructed in 1930 by the Sierra Club, it is used only as an emergenciy hut. Completely built of stone inside and out. Even the benches along the inside wall are stone. The temperature has been about 65 deg today, but very hot in the high altitude sun. At this point we decided that we would hike up to the lake between Black Giant and Mt Solomons to camp that night. The lake is in the distance on the other side of the hut.
